A busy week for Robins!

This week in Robins we have been practicing for our class assembly. The children shared how we learn, they stood proud, remembered their words and smiled the whole way through. We enjoyed ‘Pirate Day’ we wrote messages in bottles, followed a treasure map to find ‘x’ marks the stop and designed our own flags for our ships. In Topic, Art Attack, we have been using different techniques to explore how artists paint. One we have thoroughly enjoyed is Jackson Pollock, we have explored his dripping technique where the children have flicked paint on to the paper and not let the paintbrush touch it.

In maths we have been finding one less than a given number, to help we have used lego, beanbags and many more things! Our ‘Talk for Writing’ book has been ‘Billy’s Bucket,’ we have thoroughly enjoyed learning the story and acting it out to our parents during our class assembly.

Richmond Academy is a primary school in Sheerness where our children are excited and motivated to engage in rich and challenging experiences, both inside and outside of their classroom. We have high ambitions for all of our children, with staff planning carefully to meet each child’s needs and stage of development, ensuring our children get off to a great start in their education. Child initiated play based learning is at the heart of our practice. We carefully plan for opportunities, activities and experiences that develop all of our children into independent, resilient and confident learners.
