Career Primary Mark Award

Richmond Primary School has been awarded the nationally endorsed Career Mark Primary Award, recognising our outstanding commitment to careers-related learning and preparing children for success in an ever-changing world. The award celebrates schools that help children understand the world of work, raise aspirations and develop the confidence, skills and knowledge needed for their future journeys.

The assessor recognised that careers education at Richmond is fully embedded throughout the curriculum and closely aligned with our HEART values of Happiness, Engagement, Ambition, Respect and Togetherness. Through meaningful learning experiences, encounters with employers and community partners, and opportunities to connect classroom learning with real-life careers, we encourage every child to dream big and explore the possibilities available to them.

The assessor concluded that Richmond’s pupils demonstrate a strong understanding of the world of work, high aspirations for the future and a genuine enthusiasm for learning about the opportunities ahead, leading to the school being awarded the nationally endorsed Career Mark Primary Award.

Anti Bullying Ambassadors

As part of their Anit-Bullying Ambassadors Responsibility, pupils at Richmond Primary School took part in a Kindness Parade to promote kindness, sharing and inclusion within the local community. The children proudly shared positive messages and demonstrated the school’s values, encouraging others to show respect, compassion and support for one another. This initiative helped pupils develop their understanding of anti-bullying principles while highlighting the importance of creating a caring and welcoming community both in and beyond school.

We are proud to share that 30 pupils and 4 members of staff spent a day training with The Diana Award to become Anti‑Bullying Ambassadors. This training strengthens our whole‑school approach and sits firmly alongside our HEART values – Have Empathy, Act, Respect, Thrive – reinforcing the behaviours and attitudes we expect across school.

Although we do not feel bullying is a widespread issue at Richmond Primary, it is wonderful that we now have a trained team who know how to spot, respond to and support any child who experiences unkindness. The training focused on practical strategies for listening, reporting and supporting peers so that everyone feels safe and respected. Young people can change the world.

Types of bullying we learned about:

  • Physical
  • Verbal
  • Cyber
  • Social
